I never liked studying ...
... unless it interested me. As a student I avoided boring subjects, but studying my favourite subjects came naturally to me.
After a few years in education as a teacher of Dutch-English, I moved into the business world. At ABB Verzekeringen (now KBC) a new world opened up to me. I learned what people need in order to give and be the best of themselves and to evolve and develop from that strength. I also learned a great deal about myself.
Playground of partnerships
When a merger radically changed ABB and I was ready for a different context, I started working full-time with other freelancers. It was the start of fascinating assignments and enriching processes for various customers. In this playground of partnerships, I could observe, reflect, experiment and, yes, even study.
Learning and living
My interest in learning and development accordingly grew into a passion that I continue to nourish with training. Above all, these have turned out to be an investment in both myself and my development.
'What is going on in my life?' and 'What does that mean to me?' I constantly ask these questions of both myself - in my various work and life roles - and my clients. After all, whether it is in my role as a mother or yours as an employee, what presents itself and how we deal with it is what learning is all about. And so is life.
